Wes Anderson Not Welcome!

This seemingly harmless homage to Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” was causing a riot in Bushwick. This crocheted oversized figures of the characters in moonrise kingdom, to the inhabitants of Bushwick, was deemed to be a sign of gentrification. People argued that there was already graffiti behind the walls, but instead of building on graffiti, it just “covered bad graffiti with nice graffiti”. The artwork was taken down October.
